What is restoration?

Now that you have an understanding on "retouching", restoration goes even further.

It's taking those old, worn, and torn photographs from ages ago and making them look close to new.
As time passes discoloration from unprotected photographs occurs.
And from constant moving and removing from photo albums and what not. And as you look at them lots have torn edges, some wierd stain, cracks and splits.

These are your precious memories! Perhaps you only have a few of your grandmother and they are already wasting away.

Now thanks to modern technology I will be able to repair and print out a new copy of your cherished photo.

All those cracks will be removed, stains washed away (ok not literally), colors will be corrected, faded detail will be enhanced by contrast, ripped corners will be restored and then some!
